Things are becoming happy again and some delightful treats have been floating around my periphery making me smile and dream. Lots of hard things are naturally coming to the end of their time and the Christmas season is beginning to announce its sparkly arrival.

In just over a week I’ll be finished with my study for the year. I can’t believe I made it! It has been one of the hardest things I have chosen to stick to. An intense leadership course at work is also finishing the same week and I seem to have ticked off a number of other Disrupting Events. There is a wine-infused dinner planned for Friday to shake off all this sticky obligation energy. I won’t be surprised if I have a bit of an omg-the-relief kinda cry quietly to myself.

Another great relief is that my grief over Arron is less intense. I have even had some wine. No really! I donned my big-girl pants and leaped triumphantly off the wagon. And I was ok.

Most importantly though, I have a new love in my life…

Bees. BEES! I can’t stop this all-consuming attraction.

Every fortnight I get to spend the day in Woodville learning about, and playing with bees. From shaky (and terrified) beginnings, I have now become super skillful at brushing bees off my fellow beeks bottoms without breaking any laws, remembering to go to the toilet before putting my suit on and barely flinching when acting as a human vice for hammer-wielding retirees as we build our hives.

I think I’m coming out the other side of this year, much like Sir Francis’ flowers, “whole, undamaged and fresh”.
