It had to be the title of this blog entry didn’t it? Well… I have no idea what to write but I now have a blog so I am determined to use it before it gets put out in a box in the shed with all my other projects.
Friday night was a very very cool night and will be long remembered - even if those memories will be a little fuzzy and not even much to remark on. I have never in my entire life drunk four pints of black beer in one evening. Quite an accomplishment when rounded up by a shot of Glenfiddich and a hot chocolate. Keep in mind that two of those pints were actually the real stuff - Guinness no less! There was some (rather disappointing) music listened to, some people-watching done and some secrets shared… of course, way too many from my side. But, I came home with my soul very full and content.
Saturday - I actually went out for a ride. I saddled up the road bike, squeezed into some obscenely tight bike shorts and the longest butt-covering cycle top I could find, whistled for my cycling companion (Tonto) and we were away. Tonto was a very clever Indian and paced himself the entire way out at which I scoffed and did some looking-down-upon… until we turned back into the head-wind (of which I was unaware of) for the rather taxing trip back. A more humble me returned home after an hour and a bit while Tonto went on for “a long ride”. Pfffffft.
Then my car blew up. I was on my way to pick up the girls from Nanny’s place when the battery light and the A/T temp light came on and I lost power steering. Oh well, it is just too much effort to worry about it right now. As a wonderful bonus I have been lent a totally awesome car to hoon around in when I need it. There is no way to look 34, fat and frumpy in a bright red Celica even if the radio station is set to NAFF FM. I am so much cooler every time I get in. I can totally see why it is such a popular mid-life crisis tool.
So where am I up to? Oh yes, Saturday afternoon now, and another bike ride but with kiddies this time. Little Boo was so amazing biking for almost an hour with tiny legs and a few falls. I was very proud of both the girls. We were all very tired and I was rewarded with a huge sleepin on Sunday morning - divine. And today was much the same. More stimulating company, more happy children and a me that was pleased this weekend happened.
Now to prepare for another week. I haven’t had much time to sit back, think and process everything but I am just happy to be happy. I did take time to go out and find a star to wish upon, and I don’t think my wishes are due to come true this week, but I think it’s gonna be a good one anyway.
